Backup help....

Im not sure where to ask this.. but i have a 'free' IPB and for some reason they cant provide me with a back-up of the board... and now that i've setup a new board.. it seems that all my posts etc will be lost.. but they did say that some hosts can do a backup... is this the case..

on ur old board host do u have access to an admin control panel or anything?

If u have their maybe an option to backup the DB..if there is then u need to back up the database via ur forum admin panel save it to your computer then u can restore the backup from cpanel

take a look first to see if u can back up ur database via your admin panel..then if u can let me know then ill guide u thru the next step....

If you cant there is not a possible way that we can transfer your old forum to your new site.

awww.. what a shame... there's no backup option there.... that's why i wanted to move cos i dont full control over features...

create a script to connect to the database and get all the info from it. u can output the info into a text file, then write another script to read the info and insert it into the new database

ur image is not showing try reuploading the images again

No i didnt akhee... all i did was tried to add IP Dynamic Lite to the Forum...

It seems that there is a permission problem on your image..

Did u make any changes when u installed Dynmaic IP?

the only change i made was upload another index.php file -- but rather i named it index2.php... then... all my images disappeared -- even on the site's main page...*weird*

i think she started from fresh....so she lost the old contents of the other board

thats the problem if u got..a forum hosted offshore away from ur servers :)

yeah, i got the mail and checked about the bank stuff, they said it's possible to transfer the money if i'll provide them your bank account number
but they also said it can't be done directly, only thru another bank abroad, which will charge for transactions, increasing my expenditures...

now i am thinking about ways out, will write to you soon, inshaallah
