ansi c is the c language for unix platforms.. turbo c is c language for windows.. i dont know abt the differences between them though..

Hm... i just got notified that ANSI C is the standard C program. This means if you compile it with any C compiler, it will still shows the same program.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

i could be.. but the way i differentiate between them is that.. ansi is used for unix platforms and turbo is used for windows

What version of linux are you using? On the KDE desktop there is a free developing environment called kdedevelop of something like that...that will ease your linux worries, and then just get a regular c/c++ book and hack away
