Need help

As salaamu alaykum,

I just got a new hard drive installed on my computer and the technician stated I would be able to get my old information from the old hardrive by just clicking a few buttons.

Those buttons never showed up on the computer, it just requested that I install the operating system and than my software.

My dilemma is that all of my computer life is on that hard drive and I want it back.

Can anyone help me to get the information off of the old hardrive.

Presently the two are still connected.

i have a cdisk, an adisk, i dont know where fdisk is

If you have the old drive and a new drive connected to the computer then you should have two hard disks in the My Computer folder. If you don't then that means that either the old hard disk is not working or it is not connected properly.

What you can do if you don't have the hard disks connected is either you go back to the technician and tell him to connect the old hard disk or you can open the computer and look for the two hard disks. and find out which one's not connected. There are two wires that are supposed to be connected. If both are not connected then connect them.

If this doesn't work please let me know.
